Start using your Stable-Solution Fastener(TM) today!

The easiest way to use your Stable-Solution Fastener(TM) is simply to clip it into place by hand. However, some situations call for greater security, or you might want to install a fastener permanently. In these cases, use the accessories provided to enhance the performance of your clips.

Note: If you're attaching your Stable-Solution Fastener(TM) to a non-metal surface (wood, fiberglass, etc.), you'll need to pick up some screws appropriate to your material. The screws provided are for metal only.

What You'll Need

In addition to the parts provided (see opposite), you'll need to gather the following tools:

For Metal Surfaces:

How to Attach the Clip

1. Hold the Stable-Solution Fastener(TM) against the surface. (The open/rounded side should face outward, toward you.) Put the tip of your felt pen through the hole in the center of the clip, and mark the frame.

2. If the surface is metal, use your center punch to tap the mark you made, creating a dent.

3. Fit the drill bit (provided) into your power drill. Drill through the surface into the mark you made. You may now remove the drill bit.

4. In preparation for step 6, fit the Phillips driver bit (provided) into your drill, applying your socket extension as you do so.

5. If you're working with a tubular frame, place a spacer (provided) over the hole you drilled, with its rounded side hugging the frame. Hold the Stable-Solution Fastener(TM) in position. Next, take a lock washer (provided) and set it into the clip's built-in pocket, where it will line up with the hole.

6. Insert a screw through the washer, the clip, the spacer (if applicable), and the hole you drilled. Using your drill, screw it snugly into place.

7. If you plan to use this fastener to store your fishing rods, you may want to apply a Rod Rest (provided) for failsafe scratch-protection and a custom-fit look. Peel the paper from the sticky side of the Rod Rest, form it to the interior of the clip, and apply pressure for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Although Rod Rests are made to size, they can also be cut to fit.

Clipping Your Rods Into Place

When clipping a rod lined with fragile material (cork, foam, etc.), take this simple precaution to prevent any damage. Push down on the side tabs of your Stable-Solution Fastener(TM), causing the clip to open fully. Lay your rod into the clip, then release the side tabs for instant grip. Follow the same steps for releasing your rod.
